1963 corvetteThe 1963 Corvette received major restyling compared to the 1962 Corvette. Most notable is the split window for the coupe. No other year has this split window feature which makes the 1963 corvette split window very easy to spot on the road.

The exterior had other changes including the sides of the front fenders behind the wheel openings were decorated with two long indentations designed to look like brake cooling ducts, although they really served no purpose. The rear deck treatment resembled the 1962 Corvette, but the rest of the car looked revised.

The new model was a coupe of entirely new appearance. Later to become known as a Fastback due to the smooth transition of the lines of the roof to the rear, it was introduced with a new name, the Corvette Sting Ray Sport Coupe.
-Ray Miller

The headlights were hidden in an electronically-operated panel. This helped the car out aerodynamically. These pop up headlights would remain for over 20 years.

Inside the 1963 Corvette you would find circular gauges with black faces. Some of the earlier models had a small storage area under the seats. Standard equipment for the 1963 Corvette included; windshield washer, carpeting, outside rearview mirror, dual exhaust, tachometer, electric clock, heater and defroster, safety lights, and a cigarette lighter. Seven interior colors were offered; black, white, silver, silver-blue, Daytona blue, red, and tan. Also, since the 1957 Corvette, a beige soft-top was available. The choices for exterior colors for the 1963 Corvette included; tuxedo black, ermine white, riverside red, silver blue, Daytona blue, saddle tan and sebring silver. The choices for the top were; black, white, or beige.
